As we all know One Direction has been one of the biggest boy bands to ever grace the earth since 2010 and it all came crashing down in 2015 when they decided to go on a "hiatus" which would mean that they would come back together as a group but no one knew when. I was shocked or surprised when I saw the news that 1D were having break in this world a band life expectancy is 4-5 years and they had run there course. Selling No.1 albums, hit singles and sold out shows was what One Direction were known for but when these boys turned into men right in front of our eyes it's no surprise that when you hit a certain age it's not "cool" to be in a boyband, it's time to part ways.
These boys have been working non stop for 5 consecutive years releasing an album every year without fail! and they need a break. They deserve it. But now it seems that 1D are no longer on hiatus but fully breaking up and who knows maybe in 10 - 15 years time we'll be in our 30s - 40s and they'll come back like Take That and change the world one more time.
I'm not a huge fan of 1D, I never have been but that doesn't make me feel sad that this once great boyband is over because it means that I'm growing up and that sooner or later all my favourite bands will be splitting up and I'll have to go through that gruelling pain of heartbreak and sadness. I feel for One Direction's fans and it angers me when I see people on my timeline starting the new going "Thank God they sucked anyways" or whatever other negative comment they have to share. It's not cool to not like One Direction or to not like manufactured pop music because life shouldn't be taken so seriously and if fans are sad that 1D are breaking up, respect that just how they would respect if some pop punk band broke up and you were sad about it.
It's been a tough and dramatic year for the 1D boys and fans; from Zayn quitting the band to falling out with Louis, from Louis becoming a father to Liam being a somewhat homophobic douche at times. It been tough to give excuses to the boys but it's time to face facts.
1D are over and I'm not sure that they'll ever come back but one thing I'm certain is no matter what they end up doing I just hope they're happy.
