The Weeknd's Beauty Behind The Madness

The highly anticipated second studio album of The Weeknd is finally out! with his first week of sales out with selling 415,267 units including streams beating just about every pop & R&B artist the doesn't include the likes of Drake and Taylor Swift.

The Weeknd has recently gained a lot of recognition and fame due to his 50 Shades of Grey single "Earned it" which has gained him the voice that everyone wants to have sex to. His other two single "The Hills" & "I can't feel my face" have also gained him a lot of success with both singles going into number 1.

Now I was really excited for his album to come out but I must say I became a little disappointed with this new collection of songs. I just felt like no single really stood out for me personally, except for his song that features Ed Sheeran, which I must say is incredibly well written.

I don't like comparing artist' old stuff to there new stuff because I understand that artists must grow and can't keep to the same level of work and must push boundaries to stay relevant. Otherwise the fans and the world begin to become bored of the same thing and the artist becomes predictable. But with saying this I do feel that The Weeknd sophomore album "The Trilogy" was 100x better than this album but nonetheless I do believe that this album will have a big success due to The Weeknd creating very catchy and sexy songs that most people enjoy listening.

Being part of the OVO crew also means that a lot of people will enjoy whatever song you put out, that how it seems to be working.

But I do recommend people to have a listen because there are some great tracks in the album and there is still a bit of the old Abel in these new songs.

out now
