Little Mix are back and have dropped there third album 'Get Weird' TODAY! and I couldn't be more excited for this new chapter in there career.
This year Little Mix also marked there 4th Year together since being the first group to have ever won The X Factor back in 2011. Now let's get into the music... The pop group's new album is certainly different yet similar to there last album 'Salute' (which broke many records) unfortunately the growth that they seem to have tried to portray falls short as most of there songs are ballads and still have the same pop feel to there previous albums. The difference between DNA and Salute are huge but Get Weird has the same taste and feel as the last one with just maybe a little more 80s pop influence.
I was able to hear the album through Spotify this morning and I have to say that the album in complete form is fantastic. It's fun yet sad all at the same time! and it's an album where you don't have to skip songs (which I love). One noticeable difference in the album us that they have one feature with Jason Derulo in the song called 'Secret Love Song' which is about a couple that can't be together in public but seems to have a relationship forming in there own privacy. The song is sad yet it makes you feel as if you've been in that situation (it's relatable) with lyrics like "We keep behind closed doors / Every time I see you, I die a little more / Stolen moments that we steal as the curtain falls / It'll never be enough" and a slow beat in the background with drums, violins etc. makes it a heart wrenching type of song.
But then theres songs like 'Black Magic' which is fun and makes you want to get up and dance and you also have A.D.I.D.A.S which funnily enough has nothing to do with the trainers like I originally thought but instead t's about thinking of a special person and the things you'd like to do to them. Which certainly shows a bit of growth within the group with sexual innuendo songs.
Now the album as whole like I mention before is fantastic and I'd definitely give it an 8/10 and I'm excited for there Tour 'The Get Weird Tour' which is coming to a city near you!
