Today is a great day! Rihanna has released her highly anticipated album ANTI and she did NOT disappoint. Also to add to the excitement Rihanna is giving her album out for free!
The album consists of 13 tracks and feature two artists Drake and SZA. Yesterday Rihanna dropped her single 'Work' featuring Drake, which made a lot of people extremely happy because the last time they collaborated it was on Drake's 'Take Care', so there would be a lot of expectations for this collab to be exceptional. I heard Work for the first time on BBC Radio 1 and I thought it was good but I wasn't convinced that the song would do that well. but after listening to it the second and third time I realised that this song is a grower and it'll probably do very well on the charts (it already is).
With Rihanna's eighth album finally out it poses the question that this album is a lot different to her other ones, why? because Rihanna wants to do things her own way like she says at the beginning of her first track 'consideration'. Rihanna for the past decade has been known as the bad girl of pop music, with smooth but yet rough vocals and a bravado that a lot of artists wished they had. Anti is an album filled with Rihanna's Barbadian heritage with a twist of rock and pop infused in each beat. The album was produced by Kanye West making this album (in my opinion) even better. He's the most talented rapper and it shows.
Her music is different but it speaks on the amount that Rihanna has grown as an artist and as a person. She is no longer your Pop Queen but something better.
