Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift: When Will It End?

I’m going to take you back to the year 2009. The date 13th September to be exact.
It was the annual MTV VMAs where all the music stars get together to receive awards for their outstanding achievements.

But there is a reason why the VMAs of 2009 was so unforgettable. It involved Taylor Swift, Kanye West and a bottle of Hennesey (possibly cognac). In case you didn’t know or were too young to remember; little old Taylor Swift was 20 years old when she had one her first ever VMA for Best Female Video for “You Belong with Me”, which is a HUGE deal! also she beat out Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” which was also one of the best videos of ALL TIME!

When Taylor got up to accept her award a few moments later Mr West appeared on stage and everyone was confused as to why he was there. Well in no time he took the mic out of Taylor Swifts hand and announced that Beyonce deserved the award. With this his most infamous quote “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”.

That’s when the unusual feud between Taylor Swift and Kanye West was born.

Fast forward 7 years and a very frenemy relationship between the two; we’re here. Where Kanye wrote a song called ‘Famous’ and used the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why I made that bitch famous” and all of the sudden all hell broke lose. Their tumultuous friendship turned sour once again. Where Taylor plays the victim once again and everyone has to feel sorry for the little white girl. She goes on to win a grammy for album of the year (it’s a great album) but I had a slight problem with her standing on stage and saying “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice…” when looking behind at her team of producers they were all men so technically she didn't really win it for being a woman.

She then went on to say “there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame” which clearly was a dig at Kanye. I used to admire Taylor Swift, I even saw her in concert! and she’s incredibly talented no one can deny that but I am so sick and tired of her playing this innocent character, she’s 26! it’s time to grow up and to stop victimising yourself. The amount of rap songs that call out female celebrities and call them hoes and bitches is insane and for her to act the way she has makes no sense. Especially now that we all know she co-signed the song thanks to Kim Kardashian (the real MVP) who took to her snapchat to show everyone the videos on Kanye and Taylor are on the phone having a conversation about the song and she even said “I feel like it’s a compliment in a way”. It just really shows how fake people can be in that industry and I believe Taylor will be needing a lot of help from he legal team to get out of this one. Her reputation as being “sweet and innocent” is slowing becoming more damaging.

I will leave you with this: although this world is full of sadness and dark times sometimes it’s ok to be involved in frivolous and petty drama between your fave celebs.
