If you didn't know, now you know...
And we couldn't be more excited. It's been almost 10 years since the last time she performed at the VMAs and to mark such an incredible and joyous time for Miss Spears we've decided to go through the years of her performances at the VMAs.
1999 - ...Baby One More Time
Britney was just breaking through with her number one hit Baby One More Time and it was her first time performing at the VMAs, where she solidified her pop stardom with this performance; at the tender age of 18. Not to mention she performed with*NSYNC! oh how I wish we could go back to that time although I was only 4 years old.
2000 - Oops...I Did It Again
A year later she came back to perform (what I would say) her second best single and to this day has become an iconic song no matter how old you are, I know you'll be bumping to this; whether you want to admit it or not...
This is also one of my favourite performances! I love when she goes from singing 'Can't Get No Satisfaction' to ripping her suit off and going into 'Oops...I Did It Again'
2003 - I'm A Slave 4 U
The year Britney Spears made history and created a LOOK. This iconic performance where she had a REAL LIFE COBRA wrapped around her arms gave me life! I was only 7 years old and I knew then that I wanted to grow up and be as fearless and as brave as Britney Spears.
I take back my previous statement... THIS is my favourite performance by a mile.
2003 - Like A Virgin
In the words of DJ Khaled "Another one". Back in 2003 I was 8 years old and I loved the VMAs. I remember watching this performance like it was yesterday and it is probably a performance that will stick with me until I die.
I remember sitting on my couch getting so excited that Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were going to perform TOGETHER! at the time Madonna was Queen of Pop and Britney was the Princess. When that kiss happened, I was gobbed smack, I had never seen two women kiss before and my mum was so quick to turn off the TV. I sat there speechless.
Especially when they turned the camera to Justin Timberlake and he just stood there with a face like this:
THE DRAMA WAS REAL!
2007 - Gimme More
All I'm going to say about this performance is that even though Britney went through a really tough time; I was so proud of her when I saw her up there!
WE CAN'T WAIT FOR THE 2016 VMAs, BRITNEY IS GOING TO SLAY
